New web client coming soon

Hey guys!

I know, I know. It’s been very long. Too long, maybe. As you all know, I don’t have much free time anymore, so I can only work on OpenBullet for a few hours a week.
Anyways, I wanted to let you all know that we started alpha testing the new web client of OB2.

The new client is meant to be a replacement for the existing Blazor-based client. It’s more responsive and has a much better design. The backend now also provides an API that you can use to control OB2 via HTTP requests in any way you want.

Here are a few screenshots for you to enjoy

We expect the beta testing phase to begin in May, and the official release to follow not too long after that. There will be no crowdfunding event, I will release the code for free under the usual MIT license.

The features that were dropped (due to priorities and lack of time) and are no longer supported are:

  • localization (just right click and use google translate if you need, it’s browser-based anyways)
  • mobile-responsiveness (who even uses OB2 from a mobile phone in the first place?)

We are also working on a dedicated documentation site, expect more information to be posted here when it’s ready.

Once the new client is fully released and all major issues are fixed, I will once again start working on improvements (e.g., better performance) and features, something I’ve been putting off for way too long and that is now overdue  .

Well, that’s all for now.
Stay awesome,

Alpha testing is over, we started beta testing :tada:
